Achray House Hotel Restaurant and Lodges is a small (eight bedroom) family run hotel with a fifty cover restaurant serving Contemporary Scottish food mostly locally sourced with an emphasis on game and meat. It has recently won one Aa Rosette and has an excellent reputation for good food. We are open from early March to the end of December We are situated in St Fillans a small village in rural Perthshire which means that this jobs will suit someone who enjoys the outdoors or wants to save money. There is no nightlife here so if you like the bright lights this job is not for you. We have an immediate vacancy for a couple one a Sous Chef and one a General Assistant for the season until the end of October. The Sous Chef will work closely with our young Head Chef and deputise for him on his days off. The job will cover all aspects for prep lunch and dinner service working five days every seven in various shift patterns. You need to be able to work on your own under pressure as well as with other kitchen staff consistently delivering good quality food. You will also have at least a level two food hygiene certificate and be familiar with operating a food safety management system. The General Assistant will do front of house service housekeeping and some work in the kitchen. It is a definite advantage for this post if you have previous experience in the kitchen i.e. in preparing starters desserts or cooking breakfast. For both posts you must also speak and understand English fluently and be an Eu citizen with the right to work in the United Kingdom or have a valid work visa for the United Kingdom. As we are in a rural village this is a live in job. Salary will depend on experience but will include holiday pay and a share of tips. We provide free accommodation and free staff meals when working.
